segate is much better
this hard disk comes with a 5400rpm
desktop drive where as the new segate backup plus drives come with an
7200RPM desktop drive which is literally an internal hardrive speed so
if you have an usb3.0 connection on your pc then it will actually work
as an internal harddrive at around 80MB/s i personally tested them both
and believe me there is a lot of difference an segate backup plus beats
the WD drive in both speed and accessibility speed when pluged in
The best part is the segate offers 1 year of cloud space free for the amount of memory bought by you
and of course there is that service center problem there are no service centers in particular all over India for WD where as segate has them in almost every major town and also faster service
If you ask me go for an segate than WD if in India for what ever the storage capacity you buy that may be 2,3,4TB of external power drive but for internal power drives of 1,2TB go for WD insted of SEAGATE as they are the specialty of WD

Very useful
Ordered it on saturday as soon as it
came in stock (was specifically waiting for this) and got it monday
evening. Very impressive!
faced a small problem initially, as there was a slight dent problem and the cord was not fitting in the hdd. I got worried initially but after pushing it successfully manually fixed the small metal piece in place and is working like a charm. Perhaps it was because of the travel or maybe during making, not clear so just be careful and check everything if it's fine and not damaged.
Great speed works like a charm. Advantage of a powered one over the non-powered one which most others prefer is this is sturdy and less chances of usb wire problems and longer life. Great service by flipkart once again!

Lost my Trust in WD. Not recommended
I have been using a WD 160 GB for years and depending on that reliability I bought this.
I used the HD for almost 1 month and suddenly one day while being used, it stopped working.
Lost almost 2 TB of data. WD confirmed that it is the USB port issue and unfortunately they do not support data recovery. And moreover they only replace the whole unit which makes things more worse for me.
I would not recommend this device as its reliability is under question when we store huge amount of data.
I would definitely support the review made by Aditya Mikkilineni.
For everyone's info.. there is no service center for WD in INDIA (as informed by the WD technician). They only support RMA (replacement).

great product at such a price range with
cool features and of course alot of space for normal user...ordered on
13th received on 19th maybe due to diwali..bt packed well and neat..look
wise its cool..performance superb..usb 3.0 works fantastic..u cn feel
the speed literally..a bit heavy bt u can carry it if needed..a must buy
for sm1 who is looking for so much of space within a reasonable price

i receved this product very late . i think i ts takes 6-7 days from the oderd date
but the product was good
nice working . in windows 7 got speed 30-40 mb/ second
in 3 Gb ram dual core prosessor
and this hdd small and light weight
it have cooler and on/off switchs
